5 Pieces of Equipment You Don't Need, But Should Get Anyway

Next month is November and we all know what day is in November! No, I don't mean Thanksgiving. Black Friday! The day we buy ALL of our Christmas presents (or is that just me?) So to prepare you for that special shopping day I plan to I'll give you my list of 'Must-Haves' for your home gym next month, along with where to get them for the best prices. But this month, let's talk about those gym pieces you don't really need but want to get anyway.

1. Olympic EZ Curl Bar
Do you need an EZ Curl Bar? No. You can use your olympic barbell or dumbbells to get those biceps a pump. But will you look as cool? No. Did Arnold skip the EZ bar? Hell no. My favorite piece of equipment for accessory work. I use it for Bicep Curls, Skull Crushers, and Reverse Curls. This is the link for the exact same bar I have at home.

2. Cable Pulley
Get the full capabilities of a cable pulldown with 1/10th of the space used. You'll be able to do lat pulldowns, tricep pushdowns, overhead cable extension, and cable rows with this pulley. And you can't beat the price.

3. Convertible Sled
Let's be honest, how is everyone in the neighborhood going to know you're a beast if you don't push a sled up and down the street? Drag it, push it, use it as a wheelbarrow, all at a lower cost than the Rogue Sled. One of the pieces of equipment my wife and I use probably three times per month. A truly functional piece of equipment that is a great idea for anyone with kids that want to workout with them too. A great beginner piece of equipment for kids to start their fitness journey.

4. TheraCane
The best massager in the world. Use this before your workout to break up the knots and sometimes you'll forget to do the workout because it feels so good. We used to get asked all the time where we bought this. My original theracane came from the Physical Therapy clinic I worked at but this is the exact same one for a better price on Amazon.

5. Loadable Dumbbells
Everyone should own dumbbells but these are in the 'don't need' category because they aren't great for CrossFit. If you only plan to lift at home then these are a great buy. Use the same metal plates you have for your barbell with these and save yourself from buying an assortment of dumbbell sizes. They are only a bad buy if you plan to do manmakers, devil press, or renegade rows with them. All other movements these will work great.
